“Dave, just a few lines to say thank you for the beautiful meal you served my family on Mother’s Day. Your sharing platter recommendation was not only spectacularly presented it was by far one of the tastiest spreads we have ever experienced.
My Mum was quite overwhelmed by the quality and presentation of the food which in her words “Was made in my kitchen” meant a Mother’s Day she will never forget and one I will struggle to top!”
“Recently I had the un-enviable task of organising a surprise event for a group of friends whose land mark birthdays all coincided close together! My dilemma was that they all had differing tastes and this also had to be a surprise, so as you can imagine finding a venue to cover all was proving difficult!
I came across Dave and Peninsula catering and not only were they very accommodating to all the above requests I found the food quality and presentation superb easily comparable to any top restaurant but in my opinion much better value with a great personal touch!”
Meet David White
Head Chef & Director of Peninsula
Dave was born in Liverpool and moved to the Wirral aged 8. He moved to London in 2011 and began training as a chef at Coq d’Argent, a French fine dining restaurant in the heart of the financial district. He gained several professional qualifications at University of West London, including patisserie and confectionary.
In 2013 he decided to leave restaurant work and pursue a career in event catering. He spent four years freelancing for some of the biggest catering companies in London, including two winners of the event caterer of the year award.
He tried to squeeze as much experience as he could into his time in London and has been a part of some lavish events; including the premier of Charlie and the Chocolate factory in the West End, Elton John’s white tie and tiara party, Chelsea football club’s player of the season awards and Glastonbury festival to name a few. In 2015 he helped to cater at Wilderness festival, where he was lucky enough to work with some of the best chefs in the world including Raymond Blanc, Angela Hartnett and Niklas Ekstedt.
Dave returned to the Wirral in 2016 and in 2017 Peninsula Catering was born. A new concept for events catering in the Wirral, with the aim being to use fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative menus for all occasions.
